SENECA COUNTY WELCOMES A NEW ERA
(FOSTORIA, OH,
SEPTEMBER 4, 2008)
The American Red
Cross Fostoria Chapter announced today that
effective Friday, September 5, the Sandusky
River Red Cross will relinquish oversight of the
Seneca County Red Cross to the Fostoria
Chapter. In assuming jurisdictional
responsibility, the Fostoria Chapter will be
responsible for ensuring delivery of Red Cross
services in Seneca County. The Executive
Director will share duties for the Seneca County
Red Cross office also.
The Fostoria Board of Directors and the Seneca
County Advisory Board held a joint meeting in
July to discuss the transfer.
The
transfer of oversight is something the three
offices have been working on throughout the
summer. Fostoria is a large part of Seneca
County, and both offices have much in common. We
believe this is a great opportunity for both
offices to work with each other, train with each
other and make Red Cross services in Fostoria
and Seneca County stronger than ever.
There
will be no changes in the operation of either
the Fostoria or Tiffin Red Cross offices, and
this internal change will have little impact on
the public. The American Red Cross will
continue to provide emergency response, training
and services for members of the military that
the communities have come to expect.
